"Lungs": all the world is a stage

In the dark times of Covid, The Old Vic in London brings "Lungs" on stage with Matt Smith and Claire Foy, around cameras and the minimum of technicians necessary to reach via computer and connection to the 1000 seats around the world and not in the theater. A different but still pretty intense emotion, given the exceptional nature of the situation, the wound of the closed theaters and the constriction in our respective microcosms. Returning to a theater, in that theater, although through a computer, cannot fail to make one move, just as it cannot fail to move knowing that 1000 other people everywhere in the world at the same time are waiting for the lights to go up on stage; it cannot fail to know that even for those who have conceived this idea, edited it, or to play in it or direct or record it, it is a new, exciting experience (for which they ask: "Wish us luck"), a way to react, to remember that art and theater are necessary.

Nei tempi bui dei Covid, The Old Vic a Londra porta sul palco "Lungs" con Matt Smith e Claire Foy, intorno telecamere e il minimo dei tecnici necessari per arrivare tramite computer e connessione alle 1000 poltrone sparse nel mondo e non nel teatro.

Un'emozione diversa ma comunque intensa, vista l'eccezionalità della situazione, la ferita dei teatri chiusi e la costrizione nei rispettivi microcosmi. Rientrare in un teatro, in quel teatro, sebbene tramite un computer, non può non far commuovere, così come non può non far commuovere sapere che altre 1000 persone sparse ovunque nel mondo nello stesso momento stanno aspettando che si alzino le luci sul palco; non può non commuovere sapere che anche per chi quest'idea l'ha concepita, l'ha curata, la sta per interpretare o dirigere o registrare è un'esperienza nuova, emozionante (per cui si chiede: "Wish us luck"), un modo per reagire, per ricordare che l'arte e il teatro sono necessari.

Regeneration

Riguardate ora tutte le rigenerazioni dei miei Doctor, dolceamara con finale allegro quella tra Ecclestone e Tennant, tristissima quella tra Tennant e Matt, per quanto non si possa resistere alla dolcezza di Matt, ma la più bella, commovente, la più tremenda è quella Matt-Capaldi. Non si può non piangere e adorare/odiare Moffat per il modo perfetto con cui ci affonda lo stiletto nel cuore.
